Wave Jug V

A tall natural terracotta jug with a wide, softly flared neck and a wave incision that runs loosely across the shoulder - the line more fluid and free here than on the smaller pieces, drawn in a single unhurried gesture. A strong decorative piece for dried stems or displayed on its own. Handmade in Crete from earthenware clay using traditional methods; a pale colour wash lightly brushed over part of the natural terracotta gives this piece its 'worn in' look.

This piece is unglazed earthenware - unsealed inside and intended for dried flowers, stems, or decorative use rather than water. As with all handmade ceramics, slight variations in form, texture, and surface are an inherent part of the process - no two pieces leave the kiln the same, and these marks of the maker's hand are what make each piece its own.
