The bowl's wide, shallow form is one of the oldest in ceramics, and has survived because nothing has improved on it. These pieces come from Margarites in Crete, glazed in the colours the village has used for centuries: white, saffron, deep blue. From small dishes to large serving pieces, each design is made for the centre of the table.
