Spiral-Handle Amphora

A deep-coloured terracotta amphora, with elegant, slender body and handles whose spirals sit raised and slightly open. Perfect as a sculptural vase for dried botanicals on a shelf, a desk, or any space a considered piece of traditionally handmade Cretan earthenware belongs. 

This piece is unglazed earthenware - unsealed inside and intended for dried flowers, stems, or decorative use rather than water. As with all handmade ceramics, slight variations in form, texture, and surface are an inherent part of the process - no two pieces leave the kiln the same, and these marks of the maker's hand are what make each piece its own.
