Side-Spout Jug
A terracotta jug with a small side spout - a form used in Aegean pottery since antiquity for pouring oil and wine at the table, here made in natural earthenware with a wave incision at the shoulder. Suited to a shelf, a desk, or a windowsill with a few dried stems. Handmade in Crete using traditional methods unchanged for centuries.
This piece is unglazed earthenware - unsealed inside and intended for dried flowers, stems, or decorative use rather than water. As with all handmade ceramics, slight variations in form, texture, and surface are an inherent part of the process - no two pieces leave the kiln the same, and these marks of the maker's hand are what make each piece its own.
