Classic Amphora

A compact, classically shaped amphora from ancient Greek tradition, made here in natural earthenware, with a wave incision at the shoulder and two upright handles. Beautiful as a vase with dried flowers or as a sculptural piece in its own right, on any shelf, table or mantelpiece. Handmade in Crete using traditional methods that trace their roots to the island's oldest pottery villages.

This piece is unglazed earthenware - unsealed inside and intended for dried stems, or decorative use rather than water. As with all handmade ceramics, slight variations in form, texture, and surface are an inherent part of the process - no two pieces leave the kiln the same, and these marks of the maker's hand are what make each piece its own.
